Before Your Appointment:
Translation Services
If you need translation please let our team administrator know. The GPS clinic partners with Vancouver Coastal Health translation services and provides telephone access in Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Farsi, Spanish and a broad offering of other languages.
Confirm Appointment
You will receive an appointment confirmation and Zoom link from our team. Please ensure that you have Zoom available on your device and that the microphone and camera are enabled.
During Your Appointment:
Find a Private Space
Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. Please find a quiet private place so that you are comfortable speaking with our nurses and doctors openly during your consultation.
Confirm Identity
Our booking team will confirm your address, phone number, personal health care number and primary care provider.
Medical Record
We’ll take a record of your preferred pharmacy and will send prescriptions directly to the pharmacy at your request. Please inform us of any allergies and have a list of your current medications and doses available.
Gather Reports
If you have a copy of genetic testing reports, please have them on hand. If you can’t locate these, we’ll request them from the Hereditary Cancer Program.
After Your Appointment:
Follow Up
After your consultation, we will write a consultation note to your primary care provider. If there are any specialists that you like to include in our consultation letter about your care, please have those names available.
